Introduction

The Faculty of Law, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM), jointly collaborate with Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Jakarta, Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, Universitas Semarang, Universitas Kadiri, Universitas Bosowa (UNIBOS) and Universitas Jenderal Soedirman to organise the 6th UiTM International Conference on Law & Society 2026 (UiTM i-CLaS 2026) on 13&14 October this year. This is the sixth series of the conference where the first series were held in 2021.

Papers presented in the previous series were published in two ways, one by publication of the extended abstract in the conference proceeding and the selected full papers were published in the web of Science and Scopus index journal. The conference is now in the midst of getting the proceeding to be index by Scopus. The first UiTM i-CLas 2021 gathered an assembly of presenters, and participants from seven continents of the world namely Malaysia, Indonesia, Australia, United States of America, Maldives, Bangladesh, and India to which the conference successfully synchronised presentation of 107 papers that were patronised based on 17 law nomenclature including Cyber law, Family law, Islamic law, International law, Commercial law, Marine and Law of the Sea, Conflict of Law, Competition Law and Alternative Dispute Resolution. The subsequent retained its achievement by having presenters and participants from other parts of the world that include Belgium and Germany. Other than the parallel sessions, the conference had also organised plenary slots to provide a platform for the participants to garner more knowledge from the experts.

The conference welcomes all as it provides an international forum for all to share experiences, knowledge, and innovation, encourage the flourishing of intellectual development, and provide opportunities for networking and collaboration in a multi-disciplinary platform. This event also aspires to provide enriching opportunities that transcend the needs and demands of the last century to face our complex and challenging technology-impacted world. Abstracts should focus on the theme of the conference: “Law, Power and Accountability in Digital and Divided Society”. This conference focuses on interactive and adaptive research across all domains with the law as its embryo. The conference will be held in hybrid mode where presentation of conference papers and plenary session will be conducted online and the officiating and keynote speech will be held offline.
